Your legacy: Adequate medical care for the people of Laos

Would you like to do something meaningful with your fortune beyond your lifetime? We would be grateful if you would consider the Swiss Laos Hospital Project in your will and thus support our work in Laos. You have the following options:
  • Legacy You leave a certain amount of money or a certain object (e.g. a real estate, an object of value, a security) to the Swiss Laos Hospital Project.
  • Inheritance You appoint the Swiss Laos Hospital Project as your heir, together with other heirs or as your sole heir.
We will be happy to answer your questions in this regard in a personal meeting and assist you in preparing a legally valid will. The Swiss Laos Hospital Project and the people in Laos thank you from the bottom of their hearts!

Education and training of Lao doctors and nurses

The Swiss Laos Hospital Project provides help for self-help: One focus of our work is the education and training of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. On the one hand, we conduct regular teachings – directly on site in our partner hospitals or via video conferences. On the other hand, we award scholarships for further training of medical professionals. In this way, we sustainably strengthen the competence of public hospitals in Laos.

Maternal health care programs in Laos

Since its foundation over 20 years ago, the Swiss Laos Hospital Project has been committed to the fight against AIDS. We finance HIV tests and HIV therapies for pregnant women to protect their babies from contracting the HIV virus. And because the number of HIV-positive pregnant women is increasing, this program is more important than ever. A second focus is on improving the hygienic conditions of home births, which are still widespread in Laos, especially in rural areas. For this purpose, the Swiss Laos Hospital Project has developed a birth kit that allows a sterile delivery of the newborn. This birth kit is produced in Laos and distributed free of charge to pregnant women.

Improvement of hospital infrastructure

The premises and technical equipment of public hospitals in Laos are often inadequate. The Swiss Laos Hospital Project therefore supports the renovation and expansion of pediatric and neonatal units in our partner hospitals. Thanks to our regular presence on site, we are directly involved in the planning and can carry out quality controls ourselves. In addition, we finance urgently needed technical equipment and devices.
